We are recruiting Disability Support Workers to work in our Supported Independent Living homes in the Illawarra. We are hiring experienced and committed Support Workers both qualified or willing to enrol in Disability Work Certificate III or higher. Immediate start for suitable applicants to work in Lake Illawarra and/or Warrawong.
Disability Support Workers (Casual)
SUPPORTS PROVIDED:
Duties include, but are not limited to, all aspects of personal care, grooming, dressing, cooking meals, cleaning and other household chores. Other duties such as support to access community activities and attend appointments.

SELECTION CRITERIA​
-
Minimum Certificate III in Individual support, disability or aged care. OR you are currently enrolled and are about to complete a relevant qualification OR you are willing to enrol and complete a relevant qualification.

Previous experience working in Aged Care or Disability is highly desirable.

Ability to work using person centred practice while working with people you support.

An understanding and/or experience of the needs of people from diverse backgrounds.

Willingness to carry out all aspects of personal care.

Valid driver's license and access to a reliable, fully insured vehicle.

Ability to work independently and use initiative.

Demonstrate an understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

National Police Check required (obtained within the last 6 months)

Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module and Covid-19 Infection Control Training
-
Have a current or willingness to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening check.

Salary is in accordance with the current SCHADS Award depending on experience and qualifications.
